Shabby Chic Inspiration

Hi everyone!

I’ve been making shabby chic pieces for years so I felt the need to put a post together featuring a couple of my ideas.

£5 table from Gumtree

I found the beauty below from a neighbour who wanted rid of it asap. Shocked and excited, I went right around there!

Original Table

With a bit of TLC, a tin of spray paint and some clotted cream chalk paint I loved the result….do you agree?

My brother in law is a local handy man around Brum who is often given little furniture treasures that people are chucking away; these are one of them! Lonely and forgotten in an overgrown garden were two of these little lovelies.

Original Stool

It took a bit of wood hardener to prevent rotting, but once it was sealed with this, they were as good as new!

I painted the legs with duck egg blue, the seat with clotted cream and finished off with dry brush technique on the legs together with sanding/distressing. Love them!

It has been so much fun transforming these pieces – why don’t you give it a go?
